Chefs in Training - Vegetable Bugs

This week, the Cooking club got creative with their snacks. We used a variety of vegetables to make different kinds of bugs! We first washed and cut up the vegetables: cucumber, red and orange peppers, different types of cherry tomatoes, and of course, celery sticks. We used an herbed cream cheese and spread it inside the celery stick as something for the other vegetables to stick to. Then, the children were free to be as creative as possible. Some made snails, other butterflies, and some caterpillars. The children ate them immediately after making them and for some of them, it was the first time they had had a celery stick. The taste of the celery was given a 50/50 review.
