Chefs in Training - Valentine's Day Fruit Hearts

20. 2. 2020

This week the cooking club dedicated their snacks to a Valentine's Day theme. Instead of doing something really unhealthy, we opted to do something sugary but more on the healthy side. We used pineapple and blood oranges for this particular snack. We started by cutting up small chunks of pineapple and peeling the blood oranges. After, we cut the blood oranges into halves and used toothpicks to stick two pieces together to make a heart shape. After all the fruits were made into hearts, we melted dark chocolate and dunked the fruit pieces into in, covering about halfway. After the chocolate hardened, we melted a bit of white chocolate and drizzled it over top the dark. We kept the fruit in the freezer for about a half hour before pulling them out to serve and eat. <3
