Chefs in Training - Stuffed Dates
We started the lesson trying a piece of date and tasting how sweet natural fruit is. But not everyone liked it as much as bonbony or chocolate. We made the stuffing first, combining tahini and natural peanut butter with shredded coconut. We heated it up briefly in the microwave to help thicken it. We added a little cinnamon and vanilla for taste and mixed it together. We then learned how to cut dates in half, making sure to only cut halfway in order to have something to scoop the filling into. Everyone enjoyed plucking out the pit of the date. After, we stuffed the dates and sprinkled the tops with crushed raspberry. We left them in the fridge to harden overnight, and will enjoy them for morning snack.
