Chefs in Training - Fresh Fruit Popsicles

7. 8. 2020

This week was so hot! The Cooking Club made an easy cool treat to help combat the heat. Our fresh fruit popsicles are really quite simple to make. We took fresh fruit (mango, strawberries, and blueberries) and cut up the mango and strawberries into slices. Then, we took styrofoam cups, but you can use plastic cups / molds or even paper cups, to put the fruit into. The children filled the cups half-way with the fruit of their choice and then we filled the rest of the cup up with 100% apple juice, making sure to leave a space at the top for expansion. After, the children put in the popsicle sticks inside and we used cling-wrap to help keep them in place. They carefully placed the cups into the freezer for overnight. We took them out after snack while the sun was blazing and everyone was very happy to have a cool down moment. The children shared with their younger siblings too! We will definitely make these again before the summer is over! :)
