Chefs in Training - Avocado Corn Salad
Annnnnnnd we're back! After a quick hiatus due to the COVID situation, the Cooking club is back for the new school year. We made a very colorful salad that symbolized our end of the summer season. The children washed and cut up the cherry tomatoes, avocados, corn, and spring onion. After combining these, we made the salad dressing. The children squeezed out the juice from limes, added a bit of salt, pepper and garlic seasonings, and a little olive oil. They poured the dressing over top the vegetables and everyone got a chance to mix the salad together. The ripe avocado mashed perfectly during the process. We took the finished salad outside with crisp crackers to enjoy while playing outside during one of the last warm days of September.
